Great Week

Another week of running around. I will be glad when the club volleyball season is over at the end of next month. That means running to 3 practices a week and a tournment at least twice a month will end. I know my oldest enjoys it, but sheesh. LOL

This week is the elementary school bookfair. I will be volunteering some, but I think I am going to limit it this time. The past 4 years I have lived up at the school during the bookfair weeks (twice a year) and to be honest I have reached burn out.

This week we are getting ready to celebrate First Communion with my 8 year olds. The past year at Faith Formation has been preparing them for this week. They are getting VERY excited. The girls have their dresses and veils. Patrick has his outfit and tie. Now all I have to do is finish the luncheon prep. I am keeping it simple. Cold cuts for sandwiches, potato salad, elbow salad, cole slaw, deviled eggs, chips and dip. And of course a cake.

Monday we have 1st Communion Rehearsal. That should be fun. I have requested a certain row of pews since we have the babies. We will see what happens. I will be sure to post pictures the next time I blog. (Is blog even a word?!?!)

Oh and the other BIG news is Liz is going to prom with her new boyfriend on Saturday. So I will post pics with that too. 🙂 So yes next weekend will be VERY busy, but also VERY fun.

I am happy to say that the house has been kept up so there will be no massive cleaning throughout the week. Even the Buffet from Hades is looking decent. And many of you will realize how much of an accomplishment THAT is. 🙂

Can’t keep chickens…

I am upset. I called the county. I can keep 5 hens, BUT the pen has to be 50 feet from any property line. So I measured my yard. It won’t work. At all. I am bummed. I mean I back up to the woods. I am so tempted to just put a pen in the back of the yard and see what happens, and then please ignorance if I am caught. LOL

Other than that the week is going. Can’t seem to get into a groove to get things done that I wanted. One sick teenager and DH working makes for a FUN life at times. LOL

Well I am off to make some muffins. I want to get something accomplished today….

Another Crazy Week

So last week was crazy. I need to stop saying that, because it just normal for us. On Wednesday Liz hurt her back at practice so Thursday she stayed home. Friday she could barely walk so we went off to the doctor. Turns out she has a horrible pulled muscle. Thankfully by Sunday night she was doing better, but she still has a ways to go to get back to “normal.”

After last week, I have decided I need to sit down and come up with a better way to do things for scheduled doctor’s appointments. It seems like we are constantly running around with the children to to these things. So my goal this week is to sit down and come up with a way to get them all scheduled so I only have 1 or 2 days a month that are crazy.

We also haven’t gotten the items for the Square Foot Garden. We are having problems finding the materials to mix the soil. So another goal is to call around to some of the nurseries and find them. It may take a week or two until we can get to them and get the supplies. I am also going to call the County and see if we are able to keep some chickens on our property for laying eggs, since the price of eggs keeps going up.

We did a Spring Cleaning this weekend so I only have a few more minor things to get done like washing the curtains in the bedrooms and shampooing the carpets. It has been very rainy here so I haven’t wanted to do them for fear they won’t dry quickly. While the outsides of things look great, I have been noticed I need to do an inside of things decluttering, so I am going to start in the kitchen and go through the cabinets and closets and get rid of things we do not use anymore. Once the kitchen is done I will move on to the master bedroom closet and my dresser.

I am also going to make some breakfast items. The children aren’t real big cereal fans, so having something for them to eat in the mornings can be a challenge. I figure I can make a few batches of breads, muffins, pancakes and waffles and freeze them. Then the children will have things they can quickly fix in the morning if I am hung up with the babies.

It is April!

Well it is officially spring is here! But where? We have had a couple of warm days, but for the past couple of weeks overall it has been cloudy, damp and dreary. Come on Spring! I want warm and sunny days. 🙂

Overall though the past week has been good. The children are for the most part healthy. YEAH! My main part of the house reasonably clean. Heck even Mandy and the girls room is presentable. (A first in a good long while!)

I only gave 2 rooms I really need to scrub and those are the main bathroom and the master bathroom. (Can you tell I hate doing bathrooms? LOL

The next couple of weeks I am going to strive to maintain the house. On April 27th, Becky, Emma and Patrick are making their First Communion. I hope to have some people over for a celebration and I really do not want to have to do a major clean the night before.
