Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for coffee. I know, I know. But I have to survive on caffeine right now. I have spent the last 2 nights up with at least one of the little ones. (A stupid virus going around causing grumpies and rashes. UGH!) So today I am very thankful for my coffee!

It mocked me for weeks…..

I got tired of it sitting there and mocking me.

So what once looked like this:
Hot spot 1

Now looks like this:
Baby dresser

Hot Spot
Hot spot 2

Clean Spot
Buffet

Shelf in need of work

Looking better but still needs a little work
Shelf.

The first picture is the baby dresser. It holds all their clothes, it used to hold their bottles and food too, but now I have empty drawers. The buffet is holding the workbooks we are using to this summer and a Prayer Bowl. The shelf contains boxes of school supplies and the files for the house. I need to figure out how to make it look less cluttered. But it looks much better. I may use the empty drawers to hold some of the school supplies and clean off the shelf.

What a week!

The first full week home on summer vacation. It seems that time stands still, yet moves so quickly. I have so much I want to get done, yet nothing seems to get accomplished. I hate times like these.

But a few things were done. We have the pool up and running now! YEAH! Hopefully the weather will get warm enough for the children to enjoy it.

The other thing — we FINALLY found an umbrella clothes line and got that installed. Around here none of the major stores are carrying them right now, although all trying to get them into stock. We found them at the local ma and pa hardware store. Thank God we still have a couple of them around here.

Richard got it up yesterday so we will be using it today!

The garden has been in a month. Here is how it is looking now.

We have a couple of green tomatoes, the lettuces are looking good, there are blooms on the zucchini and cucumbers. The strawberries are done for the year. Next year should be better. The carrots have just started to sprout and the potatoes should be able to be harvested some time next month. I can’t wait for it to really get going.

You all have a wonderful weekend.

So my buffet still looks like a diaster. Actually worse since all the children brought in a backpack full of end of school goodies. In the long run it is probably good that I didn’t get to it today with all the end of school stuff going on. So that is first on my list for tomorrow. With everyone home I will be able to enlist the support of the oldest to keep the girls occupied so I can get it done. Richard is working so that will make it even easier. I love the man, but Lord when he home at times it is difficult to get things done.

It is offcial. The children are out of school now so the summer fun will begin. I am going to take this weekend to get the summer schedule set up. Hopefully starting Monday the house will run in perfect harmony. Okay stop laughing! I can hear you all! I can hope can’t I?

Once I get the schedule done I will post it here.

Oh I also wanted to let everyone know that the Firefox browser is hosting a Download Day on June 17th to release their new version. I have to say I was hesitent to use this browser even though I had been hear great things about it. Well earlier in the week there was a problem with Internet Explorer and blogs I read on Typepad. When I tried to read them it would lock up my computer. One of the blogs posted a notice about what was going and told us to try Firefox. I must say I really like it. It is going to become my browser of choice over the next couple of weeks. (Need to transfer all the favorites first.) Come on over and help them make the Guiness Book of World Records for the most downloads in a day. I know I am!
