Back to the Blog and a Miracle

I know I dropped off the face of the earth. The events of the pasts couple months all came crashing in earlier this month and things had to go to make room for cleaning it all up. I should be able to back to blogging on a regular basis now.

We have some awesome news to report. On April 22, Liz realized she recovered enough sight in her right eye to be able to read normal size font. Her left eye has improved to where she is able to see some things at a distance.

Now you may be thinking, you solved the problem of the high pressure with the shunt, so of course her sight would return. We have constantly been told through this ordeal not to expect much sight to return. In the doctors’ experience when all sight has been lost it does not return to a functional level.

She saw the neurosurgeon on Thursday. He has proclaimed her a “walking medical miracle.” Her improvement made his month, and possibly his entire year. He will let us know about that next time we him which will be sometime in six to twelve months. 🙂

Liz will see the neuro-opthamologist on Tuesday. I wonder what his reaction will be since he does not know about her improvement yet. Of course the neurosurgeon might let him know, but I hope not. I would like to Dr. Miller’s honest reaction.

I just had to chuckle about the doctor’s comment of medical miracle. We all know that we serve an Awesome God that is faithful. I expected this miracle. (Well most times, you know we humans are imperfect and doubtful.)

Thank you all for the prayers for Liz and our family. You can be assured that were heard and answered.
